Description
The RMS Carpathia was a transatlantic passenger steamship famous for rescuing 712 survivors from the rival White Star Line's RMS Titanic (after the RMS Titanic struck an iceberg and sank in the North Atlantic Ocean in April 1912). The Carpathia was sunk in 1918 during World War I after being torpedoed three times by a German submarine off the southern coast of Ireland.
