halftone template 2

halftone template 2

Description

This is a template for creating diagonal halftone images with inkscape. Using a halftone filter to achieve this, which is applied on the layer named "halftone layer". That results EVERY object on the mentioned layer filtered. The filter uses an image filter primitive, to pull in a 160000 px / 160000 px square with a repeating black&white linear gradient fill. The object is locked and is put on a locked layer, but still not 100% fool proof as one can edit the gradient definition elsewhere. Another warning, the image filter primitive results in instant crashing if the references are looped. So don't try to move the locked object to the filtered layer. Also keep in mind if you copy&paste an object from the filtered layer it will have the filter applied on that object. How to use: 1. import a raster image to the halftone layer (Ctrl+I), 2. create a raster copy (Alt+B), 3. move raster copy to a layer above (Shift+PgUp) 4. remove the halftone filter 5. trace bitmap, 6. copy/paste the path into a new document (Ctrl+C, Ctrl+N, Ctrl+V). Enjoy your cnc-ready silhouette!
